My students need supplies like the Foundation Chemistry Kit to learn more about chemical reactions. We also need the headphones to help us record our learning and science goals on SeeSaw.
I have a fantastic group of 5th and 6th grade students that I teach science to in a rural part of Connecticut. These students are excited and eager to explore science and are in need of science supplies to help deepen their understanding of science concepts.

My students are really engaged in science class and are enjoying our NGSS curriculum. This curriculum has students exploring science curriculum through the usage of phenomena, and students strengthen their understanding with hands on experiments and opportunities for application of what they have learned. These supplies would help me develop even more engaging lessons to help my students strengthen their understanding of science concepts.

These materials will help strengthen my students' understanding of science concepts. It will allow them to gain a deeper understanding of science concepts and skills via a hands on and inquiry based approach.

Creating fun, exciting, and engaging science lessons can be very costly, especially since a lot of the materials that we use for experiments are consumable. The Foundation Chemistry Kit will help my students gain a better understanding of what causes a chemical reaction, and how chemical reactions differ from physical reactions. Another fun science unit that we study is weather. At times, it can be difficult to demonstrate how a variety of complex phenomena work together to create 'weather'. Being able to demonstrate 'weather' on a smaller scale, with the help of the Weather Lab Science Kits, will help my students have a better, more thorough understanding of weather.
Currently, our school is switching to Student Led Conferences (SLCs). With SLCs, students are becoming more responsible for their learning and they are setting goals for themselves across all subject areas. Students are setting their goals and tracking their progress on the student driven, digital online portfolio, SeeSaw. One aspect of SeeSaw is the opportunity for students to take photographs/draw pictures and record their learning. They may also listen to what other students have posted about their own learning. Having headphones with built in speakers will help my students record, as well as share their learning as they work towards their academic goals.
