Science - Supplements to Master Basic Skills

My students need hands-on supplemental materials in 2 activity tubs and 2 sets of books that reinforce and expand on essential Science concepts!

My Students

Science is a awesome! The textbook is a great reference and resource, however, having students read non-fiction books with high-interest titles and conduct fascinating experiments makes the concepts super-easy to grasp.

The class coming to me will be - for the first time - a "mixed-up" group.

The school I'm at is going from a year round, multi-track school to a single track - everyone there at the same time. I'm excited to have students together who haven't been with each other in the same class (on the same track) for 6 years. Using the Common Core I will structure the class around Science and Social Studies, integrating as much as possible so students will be well-rounded in all subject areas.

My Project

I love science and with my enthusiasm for the subject students will come to love it too. The more I teach earth science the more I learn and understand how amazing this planet of ours is. These activity-filled tubs and corresponding libraries will allow students to go beyond the textbook. They will get tons of materials (included) to complete and explore concepts in depth. Students will experience the scientific process - not always easy with teaching Earth science - in action!

Students learn so much better by doing!

By having materials altogether and ready to go, along with interesting books to read, allows students to be successful learning science concepts. Students begin to understand that along with the reading of a textbook there are other ways to reinforce and explore science.
