Mrs. Schuh from Buffalo NY is requesting lab equipment through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students safely prepared frogs and dissection tools in order to learn about the body and have this amazing experience they've been asking for since the start of the year!

My 7th and 8th grade students have been asking tons of questions since I first started here in April 2018. Their science experience has been small in the years prior to my arriving, and it has been a challenge to start from the ground up in teaching them lab, inquiry, critical thinking, data analysis, and problem solving skills in addition to preparing them for their state assessments.
My students are resilient and have proven to be risk takers when it comes to asking questions and making discoveries, things a science teacher loves!
These are kids who are from the roughest part of our city, who oftentimes don't come to school with the necessary supplies or even basic necessities. Anything extra that I can provide them, they take and run with it, often exceeding my wildest expectations, and even impressing themselves with how resourceful and intelligent they truly are. I love each one of them for what each individual brings to the classroom and their science discoveries. They are all truly scientists!
My students have been begging to dissect something since the very first day of the school year. We have absolutely nothing in our limited science supplies to complete a dissection, and my classroom budget is very small for a science lab, not enabling such a large purchase for just a couple periods worth of discovery. You would be helping my students get past the "eww!" factor and actually dive in to science with actually getting to do a real life dissection on a frog.
You would be able to help inner city middle school students determine whether pursuing future science classes and a potential healthcare career is in the cards for them.
Remember when you got to dissect something in school with your little scalpel and forceps? We are asking for the frogs and enough dissection kits and trays that the students can work in groups of 3-4 in order to discover frog anatomy and apply it to their own.
