Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 7th and 8th grade science at an arts magnet that draws in students from all areas of the city. A key to my classroom is fostering a space where students feel safe taking risks, asking new questions, and don't fear wrong answers. In science, even wrong answers teach us something! When students feel safe, respected, and valued they reach for the stars and don't mind falling down sometimes. My students are kind, creative explorers who are learning as much about themselves as they are the world around them.

My Project

Help me create the middle school science classroom of my students' dreams! Flexible seating options that include movement. Colorful crafty decorations to make the space fun and inviting. Self calming materials for when they are having a bad day and need some extra care. And lots of hands on materials to explore the phenomena in the natural world around us!

My students are excited to see what updates and changes this project may bring them. Please help me make my classroom a little brighter and engaging.
