Help me give my students craft materials to build STEM projects for 8th grade science.

My Project

I teach 8th grade science in a rural community in southwest Michigan. My students love to learn in social settings so I teach them with projects throughout the school year. They are learning engineering and math skills right along with how to work well with a group.

Students get excited when they are provided with a variety of materials to construct 3D models or prototypes of their engineering designs.

The materials in this project will help them learn how the engineering process works to improve designs with iterations. I use the projects to teach students about earth science concepts such as plate tectonics where students build representations of plate boundaries and present them to their peers.
