My Project

I am a second-grade teacher in Northern California and I am passionate about teaching reading and early literacy skills to my students. I am currently pursuing my M.Ed. in Reading and Literacy. In this program, and through my own research I have learned about many evidence-based strategies for teaching reading. I want to expand my current teaching practices to include some of the hands-on, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and fluency strategies I have learned about.

My students are a fun, hard-working, and diverse group of kids.

Like most classrooms, I have learners at many levels. The items in this project will help me differentiate reading instruction in centers for my students' diverse learning needs. I am excited to provide them with opportunities to learn reading through best-practice strategies. I can't do it without your help!
