Vineland K8 Center serves students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I teach 7th grade science to all 100 7th graders, including gifted students and students with special needs. Most of the students have been in the school together since they were in kindergarten. Vineland has a strong sense of community and teachers know the students and their families. Vineland K8 Center has students who love to learn and are excited about science! They are energetic, helpful, smart and always try their best!
Science World magazine is an excellent addition to my classroom. My students love reading the high interest STEM related articles. It is especially important for students who are early finishers or who need a little something extra to do. I also use the articles as a class to discuss current real world science related issues. The magazines also address careers in science and technology. Reading is an incredibly important skill to master, and practicing reading with different types of materials such as magazine articles is a great strategy. My students always look forward to reading when the new issues are delivered.
