Help me give my students a visual experience by providing them with copies of the materials studied. Our district does not provide provide copying capabilities for teachers. Most of the copies are paid for from pocket.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are special. They all reside within the city of Detroit. Most of the students are from homes that have an income level below poverty. All of the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch. A great number of the students are from a single parent home. Students work hard in order to excel. Some of our parents lack parenting skills but they want the best for their children.

My students lack exposure.

Most of them have never been outside of the Detroit area. I would like to provide them with a virtual experience, if possible.

My Project

The students will actually be able to publish their works and share it with others. Most of the students do not have access to print/copy services. This color printer would allow them to print and publish their work. It would mean a lot to the students. Most of their families simply cannot afford the services.

Students will be able to expand and improve their writing and basic grammar skills.

Improved writing skills will permit them to develop a stronger sense of confidence, thus making them more competitive with students their own age. I would like for them to strive to be their best in whatever endeavors they choose.
