Help me give my students science tools, manipulatives, and activities to get them excited about learning science concepts through hands on learning in our science center.
We are a rural Title I school where many students are from low income families. The Pre-K program consists of two groups of students that attend school 2 full-days a week. We encourage parents to be involved with their child's first experience with school by providing outreach activities for parents and families.
As a Pre-K teacher, I want to give my students the best possible start with their education and encourage them to love learning.
My Pre-K classroom is filled with many lively and energetic four and five year-olds. They are curious about the world around them and they love to play, learn, and discover new things. As their teacher, I strive to make learning fun and engaging for each of them. I am always looking for new ways to make learning hands-on, interactive, and engaging for all of my students.
My Project
Our PreK students are in need of hands on science tools, manipulatives, and activities that they can use in small groups and independently during play centers. Your donations will help get age appropriate science tools and manipulatives into the hands of four and five year-olds.
We will use the new science materials and kits to enhance our science learning center and provide opportunities for students to learn and explore many different science concepts.
Remember when you were younger and they had those little viewers that you would insert the wheel of images into and you’d spend thirty minutes or more clicking through every image? Well, now they offer these with a variety of science related images such as animal life, dinosaur fossils and plants just to name a few. Our Pre-K students will love clicking through them during center time.
These items will also help capture my students attention and motivate participation and keep them engaged during our morning learning centers and during free choice time. Our students will have so much fun that they won’t even realize they’re learning about animal science, gravity, magnets, and more. All of these items are going to make a huge impact as our Pre-K students become intrigued, excited, and motivated to engage in science related activities. We thank you for anything you can contribute to our project.
