This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Despite their severe disabilities, most of my twelve wonderful students come to school every day eager to learn. I would love to provide them with the Teaching to Standards: Science. By delivering age appropriate content this products helps to fill what too easily can become an education gap.

I teach high school students who have moderate-to-severe developmental disabilities including intellectual disabilities and autism.

Our high school serves a population containing a high number number of low-income residents. As a result, students tend to be at risk for issues that stem from social and economic disadvantages.

My Project

Teaching to Standards: Science will be effective in teaching science vocabulary and engaging students in inquiry-based lessons. Students will participate in a hands-on experiment during each lesson. The Teaching to Standards: SCIENCE Classroom curriculum includes four units of study which addresses science standards using an inquiry-based approach: earth (Earth's history), Biology (including microbiology), Waters (Earth's waters), and Chemistry. all students learn actual scientific vocabulary like pollution, precipitation and condensation.

Your contribution toward this project will provide extension activities that connect my students' world to science concepts.

The scripted lessons also provide clear direction for individual student accommodations.
