This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you heard that bullying in schools has been growing dramatically in our schools. Our children need to be taught about bullies and how to prevent being bullied. Knowing how to deal with bullies is one of the most empowering feelings a child can have!
My students attend a very diverse school in a low-income area of California.
85% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch due to the prevailing poverty in the area. Most of my students' families are farm workers and are uneducated, but they want more for their children. All my students are enthusiastic learners with very impressive goals for themselves. My students love school! I aim to ensure that this never changes.
My Project
My students need books on bullying, markers and white paper to make posters. With these books I can teach my students about bullying and what to do when they see it. Our school wants every student to be actively involved in the anti-bullying program, and these books will help me show my students that no matter how little they are, they too can help. My students would like to make posters to put up in our classroom and school for all the students to think about bullying.
The best way to combat bullying is to educate all students on what to do if bullied and where to seek help.
This collection of literature and posters on bullies will help my students gain the knowledge and strategies to deal with bullying appropriately. No one can learn if they are fearful. School needs to be a safe place for all students to learn. Thank you for helping me fight back by teaching my students to stand up to bullies.
