School Vegetable Garden

Help me give my students a school vegetable garden. We have raised beds that need weeding and planting but not nearly enough shovels and trowels and tools to effectively work as a class to plant them up.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This project would allow my students to go out as a class and prep and plant our existing raised beds to grow herbs and vegetables. For many this will be their first opportunity to grow their own food and discover the variety of vegetables that can be grown.

This project includes everything including peat pots to start our seedling indoors and transplant out into the school beds at the start of the next school year.

One of the biggest issues has been we only have one or two tools which leaves the majority of students in a class with nothing to do. With this project I can keep all my students engaged in our project.
