My Students

My students love to read! They enjoy reading a range of books within many genres including fiction and non-fiction. They are so passionate about reading and frequently ask to take books home. We have a problem though...we don't have enough books for students to take home!!

According to Pearson, 'Studies show that reading for pleasure makes a big difference to children’s educational performance.' If children can choose books to read at home for pleasure it can, as some research suggests, make a big difference in how they do in school.

All my students are eager to take books home every week but their choices are slim. Please help my students continue their love for reading.

My Project

My students want to continue their reading at home every night. Due to our classroom having a limited amount of books at each reading level there aren't enough books for everyone to take home.

This project will help supply our lending library with a variety of high interest books that students can read with their parents, siblings, or by themselves.

Every child in my classroom will take books home weekly at their reading level and interest. I'm excited to provide my students with books that help them develop their reading skills and give them appropriate opportunities to practice reading strategies they are learning all while keeping them excited about reading.
