This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our inner city, public school has a high transit, low income, and bilingual population of 800 at risk students (grades K-5).

Our family atmosphere helps foster a safe learning environment to students of single-parent families, risky neighborhoods, and challenging circumstances.

High expectations and a no excuses ambiance at our school allows our students to overcome their challenges outside our school grounds. A strong administration and passionate faculty and staff help teach, nurture, and love our resilient and hard working students.

My Project

This organization station will be the homebase for parent communication. From homework, to weekly reminders, to monthly family projects. This addition to my classroom will also serve as the sign in station for conference nights and other family fun nights. The wheels will help make it useful for all of the above events. Classroom space is a vital part of the learning environment, so the addition of this organization station will allow me to remove my teacher desk. I would be able to add more flexible seating for class work and independent reading. Please help bring this new organizer to our classroom!
