Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I, inner city public school in California. My class consists of Latino and Asian English language learners who hold a high potential for academic success. Each and every day is a great adventure with my students. They make no excuses to work hard and learn no matter how challenging things may become.
My first graders are highly encouraged to be respectful, responsible, and scholarly as they prepare to be college bound.
Our school community values every student, and we do our best to prepare them for their future. We want them to know that they are part of a great learning community that will encourage and support them to dream big.
My Project
As we begin to wind up our 2018-2019 school year I’m also looking ahead and preparing for a new beginning. These home connector folders are just what we need to start off the year on the right foot. They help my little first graders stay organized and keep their school work in a safe place. They also help me stay connected with parents when sending important notes and flyers home.
Teaching kids at an early age to be responsible and organized is an important detail and I try my best to instill this in them every year.
The sheet protectors I am requesting will be used to have my students protect important math and writing resources that they place in their binder. These resources are meant to last all year long so these sheet protectors help preserve them in a safe place and are easy to find when needed. Thank you for taking the time to read our project and possibly donating to it.
