My students need these school supplies to start off the year successfully - whether they are autistic, lacking basic supplies, just need a birthday note from the teacher, or classroom supplies to help increase learning.
Around 1000 students attend my school with about 57 percent receiving free or reduced price lunch. My students come from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds with varying reading levels.
My students come to class eager to find books that engage them in the reading process.
Likewise, we are also in need of a variety of supplies as we work on different projects to increase their learning.
They are full of energy and ready to push their learning forward. Some students need books that are low level but high interest. Others need composition notebooks to journal about their reading. We also are in need of regular supplies as so many students come unprepared to start the school year.
By having the supplies, books, and materials they need for learning and to create a clean, ready classroom - we are already setting them up for success as they come into the new school year.
My Project
These materials will provide students who start the year without proper supplies, the chance to be successful. It will also help aid the students who suffer from autism, or those who's families do not have the funds to purchase supplies. Furthermore, this project also helps provide in-class materials that engage the students.
Students who have school supplies are able to come prepared to focus on learning.
We are able to give students that chance so they do not have to worry about not having what they need. It also allows the teacher to create fun, engaging ways of teaching the student when the teacher has the materials they need, also.
