My Students

My students love when I can add to the lessons we are learning. Whether it be finding extra material on the computers for them to add to the lesson, or incorporating art into what we are learning about it class, they get excited, and get more from the lesson. When we get out the crayons, markers, scissors, paint, and other supplies, they can extend what they've learned about and take it to the next level.

My Project

Some of the curriculum that I have to teach is quite dry and doesn't keep the students' attention. I like to make their learning engaging.

To do this, I will often extend learning: With extra stories that relate, with projects such as creating their own habitat to go along with our reading and science, creating their own ending to a story, or pictures to go with their math problems.

In order to do this, we go through a lot of crayons, markers, and other art supplies. and we also use our computers almost everyday; they can use the headphones to get on the computer to read stories that relate or work on activities that I have created on the Chromebook(which can get quite noisy in a classroom of 23 without headphones).

I have asked the parents for more supplies, and they just aren't coming in, so I have had to use my own money to buy extra materials.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
