This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My class is full of visual/auditory learners who are becoming increasingly aware and efficient in their use of technology. These students are members of a low income community in a school that also is Title I funded. Many times these students only exposure to technology is what is provided to them in the classroom.
Students in this classroom are all eligible for special education services, that are provided at an instructional level (at least 3 years below grade level).
These students have been diagnosed with learning or emotional disabilities, or other health impairments. These disabilities impact the students ability to perform at grade level in writing, reading, and math tasks. They benefit from stimulating materials that are rich and vibrant in presentation (visually and orally)
My Project
Students at Washington Middle School come from a low social economic status. These students often struggle to come to school prepared with necessary supplies. Students require spiral bound and composition notebooks in order to make interactive notebooks and take daily notes. Students will also use the hanging file folders to maintain their classroom materials.
The students in this 8th grade special education classroom need prompting and guidance to take appropriate notes and learn organization skills.
By donating to this project, you will help ensure that the students maintain organization and increase work completion. These supplies will be put into student hands and used to help students become successful and grow academically.
