School Supplies for Earth and Space Science

My Project

I am a second year Earth and Space Science Teacher at a high school in Burbank, CA, part of Burbank USD (first at Burroughs). While this is a great school that provides some supplies, there are other supplies that I need that I don't have access to.

Therefore, I would like to provide the best learning environment for my students.

The school is understaffed when it comes to janitorial staff and they don't have a spare set for me to use. As a result, my room doesn't get cleaned all the time. I want to ensure that my students have a clean learning environment at all times. I am also requesting whiteboard cleaning solution so that when I erase my whiteboard, no thin layer is left behind.

I am also asking for a pencil sharpener as I occasionally like students to do sketch notes as part of my lessons, where students write and draw out and color their notes. Students generally enjoy this activity and I want to ensure that a quality pencil sharpener is available at all times.

Lastly, I am requesting some interesting science gadgets like the radiometer and levitating globe as a way to get students interested and engaged in science. I have noticed that my students really enjoy my scientific demos and other scientific gadgets I have as they're a great way to bring what we learn about in class into real life.

I got very lucky this year with a group of students who are very eager to learn and I would like to provide the best learning environment for them.
