Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year I am teaching English as a Second Language, English language support, and Health to a group of 18 to 26 year old students. The students at our school come primarily from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and/or have had disruptions in their educational journey.
My main goal this year is to help foster academic and personal growth in each of my students.
I have been fortunate enough to receive support from my school in acquiring classroom materials such as pencils and paper, but I am hoping that with some assistance I will be able to purchase additional supplies to further assist my students as they move even closer toward their educational goals.
My Project
The basic school supplies I am requesting for my classroom will have a huge impact on my students' day to day lives. Having their own pencil case packed with supplies such as pencils, erasers, pens, and other materials will ensure that they are able to complete their assignments whether they are at school or elsewhere.
Our students attend school once a week and work four days a week, so it is important that they have access to educational supplies and materials regardless of their schedule that day.
