School Spirit Through Soccer

My Students

We have started an intramural soccer program at our school. We are looking to convert this program into a school club that will compete with other regional soccer teams. Many students that make up our program do not have the means to play for a soccer club and are very passionate about playing soccer.

This program will give new opportunities to students who haven't been involved in extracurricular activities yet.

I teach 7th grade and run the soccer program, and I've had the pleasure to work with these kids in and out of the classroom. They are hard workers, and they are the type of kids that anyone would be willing to go to work for.

My Project

We have a large population of students that are passionate about playing soccer. Many of our students do not have the means to play for a local soccer club, so this will serve as an outlet for those students to belong to something positive.

The objective for this program is to serve any student interested in playing soccer.

I feel like we have many at risk students that need something positive to be a part of. We are working with other schools in the district to begin a city league with 10 teams to play games this spring. We have the interest and facilities in place, but we are needing funding to help cover some of our costs with equipment.

I believe support for this program will impact so many students in such a positive way.
