School Spirit in Spite of the Storm

Help me give my students supplies to create school spirit shirts and jackets for students affected by flooding.

My Project

KCHS students, along with hundreds of other families in Knott and surrounding counties, were deeply affected by the tragic flooding in July 2022.

Families woke up at 1:00 AM on a Thursday morning to rushing waters entering their houses.

Many lost everything they owned, including their homes, vehicles, or even family members. Still today, there are families living in campers because their homes have not yet been rebuilt. Many of these are KCHS students.

I am the business/office technology teacher at the Area Technology Center in Knott County. My classes started, run, and maintain a school store, The Hut. Students design, create, advertise, and sell various items to raise money to fund activities and trips for HOSA, FBLA, and SkilsUSA club members. This project would be used to make and distribute KCHS shirts and jackets for those students in need of school spirit clothing for school.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
