Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are kind, compassionate learners. They place a strong value on their educations, their teachers, and their schools. My students are from Camden, New Jersey. They go to CHS where they are flourishing.

My students have big dreams.

In order to reach them, they need to continue developing their independent reading abilities. I have had my students for three years. Every year their reading comprehensions has been improving greatly. Now our big goal is getting the students to read confidently and joyfully.

My Project

I have a classroom library that is full of books. However, my students have to read books in dilapidated chairs or at their desks. These uncomfortable reading settings do not create an environment where they can most engage in with their books. Students see reading as work. By allowing students the opportunity to read in a more relaxed setting, students will be able to learn that reading can also be for pleasure.

I am asking for five relaxed reading chairs so that students will have a place where reading can be enjoyable.

By gifting seats to students, you would be gifting the love of reading.
