School Liaison Needs Our Help!

Help me give my students a school liaison that can serve efficiently and effectively.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school where all children receive free breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Many also receive food bags to take home for the weekend. Our scholars deal regularly with issues of poverty, hunger, and homelessness. Their parents often struggle with substance abuse, unemployment, or having to work multiple jobs to support many family members. Additionally, we have a large military population. These children are accustomed to changing schools regularly and having one or both parents deployed for long stretches of time. The kids, however, are still awesome! They are eager to learn but sometimes don’t have what they need to get it done.

The students in my class deserve to have awesome experiences and a warm environment like children in better-funded schools.

I want to help boost their morale and let them know that we care by making their class more kid-friendly.

My Project

Our school has been revamped due to Covid. Some spaces have had to change due to the need for multiple nurses stations. Our school liaison and family engagement specialist, is very mobile now. She always has been but now is out more in the community due to the needs of our students during COVID. She is visiting homes of students everyday meeting various needs. She is constantly moving from place to place to accommodate our students. Help me to give her an iPad so that she can work effectively. The goal is to meet student needs the most effective and efficient way possible. Carrying a computer from place to place, all day long, is not always easy but she does the best she can to help serve our student population. I would like to make her day by presenting her with this tool to help make her job easier! This will help students by assisting with their mental health and emotional wellness. That is her focus. The whole child.
