Help me give my students the opportunity to experience a Simulated Work Environment. My class will open "School Grounds," PS168x's own coffee shop! My students will gain real-world working experience to prepare them for high school and beyond!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a special needs school in NYC's District 75. We are a title 1 school in the South Bronx and all students in my class are diagnosed with autism and intellectual disabilities. In addition to a focus on academics, it is vitally important that our students learn real-world skills that can help them be career ready upon graduation.
For that reason, we are opening "School Grounds." a coffee shop where my class will run every aspect from preparing food and drinks, taking money, and greeting people, to washing dishes and taking inventory.
