My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful and very inquisitive! They love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! My students come to school each day ready to try and learn new things.

My students come from a variety of economic backgrounds with over 50% of the students receiving free lunch.

The students speak a multitude of languages including Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Arabic.

My Project

Scholastic News will bring kid-friendly current events into my first grade classroom! Every issue features on-level informational texts, lesson plans that meet today's standards, and online resources.

Scholastic News is important news stories to build nonfiction-reading skills, increase content-area knowledge and inspire a love of learning.

Every week, our first-grade magazine will help build reading skills and increase science and social studies knowledge with engaging informational texts, complete lesson plans, and online resources like videos, Text-to-Speech audio, Spanish translations, games, and more for my first graders. Students can go online at home and watch knowledge-building videos, play interactive games and do fun activity pages.
