Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There are twenty-five students in my Fifth grade class at our inner city school, who face daily obstacles and difficult challenges. They come from very low socioeconomic backgrounds and very low income families.

All children at my school receive free lunch and snack daily.

Many of them do not have basic school supplies and other necessary items. Despite all of the challenges these students face in their daily lives, each one of them comes to school ready to learn and succeed.

My Project

We are requesting a class subscription to Scholastic News magazine. With the Scholastic News donation, students will be able to learn about different current events as well as highlight their articles to help take notes about the events.

Students can make each magazine their own and individualize their learning.

Students will be able to use these magazines daily as part of their reading options. These resources will be a wonderful addition to our curriculum. We will be able to use them as a supplement to reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.

I am certain that all of my students will benefit from having these materials as an educational supplement.
