My students need books and book organization. I've been working very hard to build my classroom library, but I lose many books each year. The Intelliscanner will ensure that my classroom library remains intact!

My Students
My class this year can only be described as awesome. They came with such kind words from previous teachers and I can say that they have wholeheartedly lived up to their reputation. They're kind and compassionate, they're strong and sometimes stubborn (aren't we all?), and they persevere when faced with challenges.
This group, as a whole, loves a great challenge and their minds and bodies are constantly in motion!
I have a higher number of gifted students in this class than with any other class I've had; they're my "what if we tried this..." students. The students that I have that struggle academically work so hard to better themselves each and every day. My class truly makes me remember why I am in this profession!
My Project
I have requested an IntelliScanner book scanner, scanner labels, a new and enough copies of "Woodsong" for multiple students, and a display shelf for my larger, thinner books.
Each year I lose more and more valuable books from my classroom library.
With these materials, students will be able to check out books quickly without losing class time. I will be able to easily, effectively, and efficiently review who has which book out. The labels allow me effectively keep track of multiple copy books. The shelf will allow me to have space for our ever expanding classroom library. I read by Gary Paulsen to my reading classes each year; each student having a copy to follow along keeps them engaged and on task while I read.
Most teachers would agree that book organization is the key to any successful classroom library! This will benefit my classroom, and my students, for years to come.
