My Project

Students with dyslexia are bright, curious learners, but accessing grade-level text can be a daily challenge. With scan pens and Bluetooth headphones, these students will be able to independently scan printed text and hear it read aloud in real time. This assistive technology will allow them to access reading passages, directions, and even word problems in math without relying on an adult. The Bluetooth headphones will ensure the audio is private, preventing the text from being read aloud to the whole room. This allows students to stay in the classroom with their peers without causing distractions, rather than needing to leave for a separate setting or rely on an adult. Most importantly, these tools will empower students to complete assignments and assessments independently, building confidence while ensuring their reading difficulties do not limit their ability to show what they truly know.
