Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are in an extended day kindergarten class and even though it is a long day, my students are always happy and excited to come to school, just as I am to be at school to be their teacher.
My students live in a low-income area. 100% of my students have free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast. My classroom is filled with lively students who are super excited to be at school.
My Project
This year, my kindergartners have been working hard on making awesome choices in behavior and learning throughout the school day. When you walk through our classroom, they are committed to doing well in school so they can be successful and be excellent learners. At our school, when students are caught following school rules, they earn an "Eagle Buck".
Now that my students are earning "Eagle Bucks", I would like to create an incentive system by creating a special "Jr Traffic Controller Day" where they can cash in their "Eagle Bucks" to celebrate their success!
Students will have to budget their "Eagle Bucks" and spend wisely so they can participate in their chosen activities. They can use their Eagle Bucks to trade in for play with the community garage, vehicles and hammering kit. We will also have free areas such as transportation coloring pages, art projects, and other activities using the dot markers that students will be able to utilize to save bucks and so all students can participate.
The materials requested in this project will provide my kindergarten with a fun "Jr Traffic Controller Day" event while teaching students financial literacy and celebrate their success this school year.
