"Mr R., I got a question right on Jeopardy last night!" Imagine my surprise when she informed me that it was because of something we learned in class.
My kids live in a somewhat rural county and come from a variety of backgrounds.
Some are from military families and have moved throughout the globe. Others are local and have never been out of their city, let alone the state.
Students at my school are often sheltered away from the history that surrounds them. However, my kids are eager to learn in a variety of ways and bringing history to them grabs their attention.
My Project
I often ask my students to create or recreate their own versions of historical documents. They usually do an amazing job! I would like to be able to preserve some of their work. With this laminator and laminating pouches (for documents as well as business cards), I can preserve their artifacts for an extended period of time.
After spending days painstakingly creating post cards from immigrants to their families back in their mother countries or drawing political cartoons, my students need to see their work on display.
I will have the students choose their best work and laminate it. They will be able to display their work without fear of it being damaged or destroyed.
I look forward to our Expo night when students will proudly show off their projects to parents and their community. Students will know that I value their work and that will help continue to fortify the foundation of the relationships I have built with them.
