Save the Trees! We want to do our part by reducing the amount of paper we use in our classroom! Using individual dry erase boards will give students the opportunity to participate in writing exercises from their seat and receive immediate feedback on how they did as well as make corrections.
My students are awesome!
I have eight students with multiple disabilities I get to share my day with. We go out into the community for instruction and work on academic and life skills in the classroom. They love to learn! We work on all subjects using the Access Points curriculum for Florida standards, which means on top of knowing about money, time, home skills and cooking, they know almost all 50 states and their capitals, life cycles of plants, types of clouds, Lewis and Clark and so much more. They amaze me every day!
My Project
The materials I'm requesting are a set of 10 dry erase boards along with markers and erasers. Everyone loves a good game show, and my students are no different. One game I love to play with them is to pose a question and allow them the chance to write down the answer (in the future on their dry erase board) then, all at the same time, everyone reveals their answer! It is very exciting, and fun. We can use a bar graph to show who got the right answer and everyone can participate regardless of physical ability.
Finding ways to keep children with disabilities motivated and engaged in lessons can be challenging, having more resources available will increase the odds of connecting with each student.
I hope you will agree and fund this project, I am grateful for your attention to my proposal.
