This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students attend school on Saturday to receive extra reading and math support. High interest games and activities keep them engaged on the weekends.
My students are hard working curious learners who enjoy the extra support on Saturdays.
They are excited to be at school and know that their diligence will take them far in life. My students are a diverse group that enjoy the differences in others.
My Project
These materials will allow the students to work in teams or independently during the Saturday school sessions. While the others are working, the teacher will be able to give small group support. The activities will motivate the students to practice their reading and math skills. While using these materials, the students will practice comparing multiple texts, determining theme, and they will gain new vocabulary. Additionally, they will work collaboratively to exercise their computation skills.

The materials will help me plan and prepare engaging lessons to keep my students working hard on Saturdays. My students will feel more successful in the work they do during the week days too.
