Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hardworking children. My classroom is located in the heart of the Central Valley. Many of my students are English Learners as well as migrant, transient, or homeless.
Many of my students wake up at dawn and stay at school until 5:30 every evening.
For many of my students, school is the only dependable and stable part of their lives. These young students work hard every day to conquer the learning that is put in front of them. Their passion and commitment to learning should be an inspiration to us all!
My Project
My students only get snacks provided by our school Tuesday through Thursday. Monday and Friday I provide them with a snack when possible. Many times students will tell me they are very hungry and their stomachs hurt way before lunch time. It is heart breaking to realize that they can't focus because they are thinking how much longer they will have to wait before lunch.
The snacks in this project will provide my students with the energy they need in order to tackle the day's learning.
My Students are very thankful and appreciate any snacks they receive! They specially like cheese crackers like Austin Crackers which satisfy their hunger and allow them to focus on their learning. Thank you so much for your help!
