Help me give my students the opportunity to dive into amazing Scholastic magazines that will help them connect with real life situations and stories that are discussed in these magazines.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a 5th grade ELA teacher at a Title 1 school in Mississippi. I believe that students learn best when activities are integrated, interactive, and meaningful. My students are full of energy, loving, and kind-hearted. My goal is to help each child reach his or her fullest potential no matter what it takes! I want them to develop a deep understanding of knowledge and have a love for learning. I work hard to plan creative lessons and activities to engage and challenge students.
My Project
Scholastic Magazines will help students to dive into passages about current events no matter if they are taking the virtual or traditional route! During these unprecedented times, it has been hard to find online age appropriate materials for my students to read and continue practicing their literacy skills. In addition, my students shared that reading Scholastic News makes reading more exciting because they are able to connect the reading to real life situations. The passages have always been through provoking and cultivated a plethora of in depth discussions in my classroom.
