Safety First in Science!

My students need safety glasses to conduct science experiments. These safety glasses will help protect my students eyes in case of an accident during an activity we are completing.

My Students

I have seventeen fantastic, large personalities that make an interesting classroom family! As a teacher at a Title I school that receives 100% free or reduced-price lunch, my students often come from a challenging home life. Each day I work to make our classroom a second home for my students so that they know it is a place with love and respect. My children need and love engaging lessons and activities, I strive to create new experiences for them daily that excites their love of learning.

My Project

One of my favorite science activities is when students create a chemical change by pouring baking soda into a bottle of vinegar. A gas is produced which fills up a balloon that is attached to the bottle therefore proving a chemical change. The students love it, I love it, it's a science win for sure!

After completing the experiment and sharing awesome pictures of my students learning, it was brought to my attention that my students should have been wearing safety glasses.

Duh, Mrs. Moore!! After thinking about the many science experiments we complete each year I have realized that safety glasses are a MUST for my classroom.

That is where you can help!! These safety glasses will help my students not only look awesome during science but it will help protect their eyes in case of an accident during an experiment. Safety comes first and I need your help to keep my kids safe!
