Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom is more than just a place to learn—it is a space where students grow, connect, and feel safe every day. This project focuses on creating a clean, safe, and supportive learning environment for all second grade students by providing essential cleaning supplies, social-emotional learning (SEL) tools, and individual school materials.

With access to kid-friendly cleaning products such as disinfecting wipes, tissues, and hand sanitizer, we can maintain a healthy classroom while teaching students the importance of personal and shared responsibility.

A tidy environment helps reduce the spread of germs and allows students to stay focused on learning. To support daily upkeep, we are also requesting a floor and carpet sweeper to keep our classroom fresh and inviting.

Creating a welcoming physical space is just as important as maintaining cleanliness. This project includes a request for a brand new classroom rug, which will serve as a central gathering area for lessons, discussions, and community-building activities. We are also seeking comfortable seating for our classroom library, giving students a cozy and safe place to read, relax, and develop a love for books.

In addition, this project includes SEL tools such as calming fidgets, emotion cards, and mindfulness activities to help students manage their feelings, build positive relationships, and develop self-regulation skills.

Finally, providing individual school supplies ensures that every student has their own materials. Personal supplies help maintain hygiene while promoting independence, responsibility, and ownership in learning. Together, these resources will create a classroom that is clean, calm, comfortable, and ready for success.
