My Students

My first graders are compassionate, energetic, and positive. They love to compliment one another and help make our classroom a friendly place to be! They are unique and talented, and each brings something special to our classroom community. They learn in a variety of ways and need different things to be successful. They love our flexible seating classroom and can be seen using a variety of seats and spaces throughout the day. They inspire me to try new things and never be afraid of making mistakes!

My Project

My students' social and emotional needs must be met before I can even begin to teach them how to read, add and subtract, or write with capital letters and punctuation! My 26 students all come with different learning styles and needs. These tools will help them to feel safe and successful.

Why a bean bag, trampoline, weighted blanket, and sound machine?

These will provide sensory input in a healthy way, allowing my students to then be able to learn effectively. Just as I differentiate my instruction, I must differentiate the tools they each need to calm down and refocus.

I'm honored to be an advocate for my students, supplying them with what they need in a proactive way.
