This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 5th-grade class is a diverse group of students who come from low-income residences in southern California. Several students speak one or more languages at home and/or have an IEP or 504 plan in place. This past year, these students have gained vital experience learning online while enduring many obstacles along the way. Due to these obstacles, student knowledge will be varied and learning preferences will be different. To meet these needs, flexible seating is a must!

My Project

Being in a classroom bungalow, I have limited storage space. At the moment, math manipulatives are stored in baskets that are taking up space on the collaborative math table, my instructional books for math are slipping and sliding in a cabinet, and construction paper keeps getting damaged. With your donation, I will be able to declutter a work area, utilize the space in my cabinets, and have more stable storage space. I will also upgrade the math table to be a more interactive space with whiteboard contact paper and magnets. Ultimately, your donation will help me create an environment with fewer distractions while providing a safe, collaborative math space.
