Help me give my students their own set of school supplies to keep at home if distance learning (I will personally deliver each set of supplies to students' homes) or to be kept at their desk.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach energetic and enthusiastic eight and nine year old learners. We are a Title I school in an urban district with a STEM theme. My students are at a variety of different levels, but they are all eager to learn and love finding new and exciting ways to learn the materials.
My students' enthusiasm and kindness is what gets me motivated to come to work each morning.
In our classroom, we build a culture of respect where everyone is eager to come to school each day!
My Project
With so many uncertainties for this coming school year, one thing is certain. I must protect my students by providing them with their own individual set of school supplies to reduce the spread of germs. Even if my district proceeds with plans for distance learning, I discovered at the end of last school year that many of my students did not have the basic supplies at home to complete schoolwork such as pencils, crayons, scissors, glue sticks, etc. If distance learning is chosen, I will personally visit each student's home to drop off their own set of school supplies. If a hybrid model is chosen, each student will be able to keep their own set of supplies in their desk.
