Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our Girls on the Run team is more than just a running club; it’s a program that builds confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits in young girls. Throughout the season, students participate in lessons that blend physical activity with important life skills like goal-setting, self-esteem, and positive decision-making. However, many of our participants do not have access to appropriate athletic wear. Without comfortable clothing, it can be difficult for them to fully engage in practices and feel confident while running and exercising. This project will provide each girl with a pair of breathable, flexible athletic shorts designed for movement and comfort.

Having proper activewear will allow our girls to focus on building their strength, endurance, and confidence rather than worrying about what they’re wearing.

It also helps create a sense of unity and belonging within the team, making every participant feel included and supported.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
