My Project

My 5th grade students read the first part of a 4 book series about four children on a local track team written by a Black author, Jason Reynolds. They were thrilled to read the first book, Ghost! It took them on a thrilling journey of empathy, joy, disappointment and so much more. The book ended with a huge cliffhanger and it left students wanting more. My students felt connected to this novel for many reasons and as their guide through reading and writing it is my duty to expound upon their interests.

Our curriculum did not allow for students to access the next novel in the series, Patina.

I am hoping to fund a class set of this novel so that students can find out what happens next!
