This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hello and thank you for considering our proposal for a new rug. I teach third grade students in an urban elementary school. This year, I have 26 students. Our school is in a high-needs community where students receive free or assisted lunch.

Our third grade class needs your help because we need to have a rug that provides us with personal space. The rug that we currently have in our classroom does not accommodate all of the children, therefore we are in desperate need of this new rug.

We would like to have this giant-sized "A Place For Everyone" rug. The rug contains bright colored squares so that each student can sit on their own square. Because of the bigger size of this rug, the students will be able to sit on the floor without disrupting one another and it will also provide them with educational experiences as well.

This rug will allow us to reinforce graphing skills. It will also help students with color recognition and following directions (ex. "Jeremy, please go sit on a red square.")

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
