My Students

My students are unique! They come from all walks of life and get intermingled in one small room. They face challenges both in and outside the classroom, at home and at school. As a low income district we try to differentiate and make learning more fun for the students to keep them involved.

The students bring something new to the table each day when they set their little feet within my classroom.

We are a neighborhood school, so that means most students walk to school and spend most of their day here until their parents get home from work!

My Project

In first grade we do a lot of learning on the floor and a rug would be an integral part of our classroom. By having a space to sit on the floor, the students will be able to be comfortable and learn to their ability.

Learning personal space is one of the most important things in First Grade!

With this rug, I will be able to show what personal space looks like and incorporate it into our daily routine!

Every day we will conduct morning meeting, small group lessons, calendar math, language arts, and math on this rug. It will be a vital part of our classroom!
