Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This rug will be so helpful in our classroom. Our last rug was an old worn out rug that did not have a sturdy backing. It was well loved, but unfortunately was a huge slipping hazard. This rug will give my students a comfortable place to sit during whole group discussions. I can assign students individual states to sit on. They will start to learn about the geography of the United States while having a clearly defined area of their own to learn.

It will also be used as a teaching tool to show how the settlers settled in Colorado during Westward Expansion each year when we teach fourth graders about our state's history.

I am looking forward to teaching about the importance of water, showing where the thirteen colonies were, and where the Gold Rush happened. I really appreciate your support.
