My Project
I teach Makerspace at Winget Park Elementary and I have the joy of teaching all of the students. When each class comes into my classroom, they are given a challenge that they have to solve by building an invention. My students are allowed to work anywhere in the classroom that is safe and comfortable that will allow them to do their best work. Many of my students prefer to work on the floor but it can be uncomfortable because I do not have a rug in my classroom. I also like to start each challenge by having my students together on the floor so they understand the expectations and challenge for that day.
My goals for this project is to have a cheery and fun rug that will allow my students to be more comfortable when they are working on the floor in my classroom.
I have the most amazing students at Winget Park Elementary because they love to try to solve problems in my classroom and enjoy working together. It is amazing to walk down the hallways each day and have the students ask me if they have Makerspace today. They want to come into my classroom each day to challenge themselves and to be inventors!
