My Students
My lively bunch consists mostly of English Language Learners and a few native English speakers. This group of children has proven to be a very inquisitive and compassionate group that I've taught to date and I'm appreciative of the ride they've taken me on thus far.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds, however, the common element is that the demographic I serve are all low-income.
Due to this, there are a plethora of ideas, projects, and equipment that I'd love to have to enhance our learning environment
My Project
On top of the added comfort of walking on a rug, my classroom rug serves a variety of purposes. Having a large rug in my classroom helps create flexible seating, provides a space for us to gather for large group learning and doubles as a learning tool due to the decorations. Additionally, the rug minimizes noise, prevents slips and creates a warm and cozy learning environment.
From a health perspective, rugs help trap allergens and other particles that fall to the floor so they don't circulate in the air.
Considering that our room is on the ground floor, we need assistance in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
