Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are going to benefit from amazing renovations this summer to our building and Music Room. We are so excited!

I need a safe, cozy place for my tiniest friends to sit.

The floor they are designing will be tile, which while resilient is not comfortable for small bodies to sit on. I would love to divide the room into areas: a circle rug for my youngest friends/movement activities, and an area for my older students in Chorus and Violin.

My students are wonderful and love to participate in Music class. My tiniest friends love to sing and dance and move. I've started seeing children as young as babies-3-year-olds from our special Judy Center as an effort to bond with them early and welcome them into our school community. A rug will help all of my young friends focus, play circle games, and give them a safe, comfortable place to sit between activities.
