With these donations, we were able to meet our goal and fund 14 iPad cases for the students throughout the district! This is a huge contribution to Baltimore City's Assistive Technology department. \r\n\r\nWith these cases, we were able to convert 14 iPads into communication devices! These devices are used throughout the district to help students who are non-speaking/non-verbal and require access to augmentative/alternative communication methods outside of verbal speech. As the demand for AAC devices increases, our inventory dwindles! We appreciate all the help we can get with maintaining our inventory and improving access to communication throughout the district. \r\n\r\nWe appreciate everyone's contribution so much. The students are able to use the bean bag and fidgets to help them calm their selves when they get upset. They are able to look at the calming posters to help them choice a way to calm down. This has really helped with maladaptive behaviors. The students know to go to the calming corner when they get upset and chairs are not being thrown.\r\n\r\n The students are able to use t he interactive board to do work now that we got the cords to allow the board to be used. They love coming up to the board to participate and be able to interact with the lesson. It is hard to get them to take turns since they love coming to the board. They are more engaged and want to learn since they are able to use the board.\r\n\r\n All of the items that were donated help my students to be more engaged and want to interact and learn. I have seen a great improvement in behavior and participation since we received these gifts. I can't wait to host a school wide tournament with this game.
