Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our student-led Growing Together initiative, backed by staff support, aims to empower students to take charge of our school/community garden expansion while enhancing learning experiences for adult students through the Fruit Tree project.

The students have taken a leadership role in selecting items, and supplies needed.

Your donation will directly contribute to purchasing a lime tree, tree stacks, fertilizer, an apple tree, and tree guards. These items will help create an engaging outdoor space that fosters community, utilizes the therapeutic benefits of nature, and provides a never-ending healthy snack to our students while contributing to our community pantry.

Our students, each bringing unique abilities and talents, will learn how to plant, care for, and harvest fruit trees, thus gaining valuable skills in gardening, sustainability, and healthy living. By actively involving students in the process, we empower them to take ownership of the project, fostering a sense of unity and resilience within our community while addressing food insecurity.
